Let me help you brainstorm ideas. We will talk about main plots, sub plots, character motivations, point of view, tropes, editing steps, and so much more!
Depending on starting word count, first session ranges from $75 - $150. After that, it’s $30 for each session if its for the same book. I will scan your work in progress and we will go from there.
Each session is 1 hour long.
Pay ahead for 5+ sessions and get them for less! The first session would still range from $75 - $150 depending on starting word count, but the next 4 sessions would be $20 each. (Must be paid in full before first session. Nonrefundable.)

Developmental Editing
Developmental editing looks at the big picture overview of a manuscript. In this edit, we will look at plots, sub plots, characters, point of view, themes, tropes, and so much more! This edit includes in-manuscript notes which will convey all of my positive comments and constructive criticism and an editorial letter that will include explanations, examples, overall takeaways, and resources. My goal during this edit is to make sure that your author voice shines in the best light for your readers.

If you are unsure about whether or not this is a good fit, contact me and we can talk about doing a sample edit! I also recommend doing an evaluation with me before this edit. If you complete an evaluation with me and decide to do a developmental edit, I will credit you the price of the evaluation toward the developmental edit charge.
Evaluation
An Evaluation consists of a simple read through and a Editor Letter. During the evaluation, I will be looking at what stage of editing you would need to start at, consistency throughout the manuscript, and even people or events that need help to reach their full potential. In the editor letter, I will include an overview of the manuscript, list of things I enjoyed, and areas that may need some work (along with resources and examples).
Pricing ranges from $250 - $500, depending on word count.
For example, a 50,000 manuscript would be $250, while a 120,000 would be $500.
Upon request, I can do a free sample of a developmental edit on the first ten pages, with in-manuscript notes if you are thinking about working with me further.
Getting Started Package
This package is specifically created for first-time, indie authors. I have been self publishing books for 6 years. There is a lot involved with the process, and I am here to help!
For me, the hardest part was learning where to start. With this editing package, I will first do a developmental edit, providing in-manuscript notes along with an editor letter, then we will talk about the overview of your manuscript, the editing process, and next steps. My goal is to have you starting this journey feeling confident and like you aren’t alone. This package also includes 3 coaching sessions that can be used at any time of the editing process.
It can seem like a lot, but we can work through it together.

Proofreading
Proofreading is one of the most important steps, even after going through hundreds of rounds of editing. This step is usually done before the formatting, but I have seen it done before and after formatting. As an author, I have found more mistakes after it’s formatted than before. We can talk about which would work best for you.

Additional Notes:
All editing services will need to be scheduled, and availability depends on how many projects I have at once. Please contact me with any questions.
If you send me your completed manuscript before the due date, I will send you an email when I am starting on your manuscript.
If you don’t have your manuscript ready quite yet, that’s okay! Sometimes we need deadlines to keep us accountable. I am more than happy to schedule you in advance of your manuscript being complete, but I will need the completed manuscript one month prior to the scheduled slot. If the manuscript isn’t completed by then, we would have to push your slot back. I want to make sure your manuscript is at a place that you are comfortable sharing it and not rushed to complete. So we will keep in touch and work together.
If the book your requesting editing for is the second in the series, and I wasn’t the one to edit the first book, I will need a copy of the first one, and it will be an additional $50 fee for each book before the current one. I want to make sure that events, names, capitalization, etc. line up from the previous books to the current one, which requires me to read the series from start to present.
